Twenty years is too short a time for any institution to make its presence felt. But our institution, I think has perhaps achieved an enviable height. This college was started in the year 1986 with a noble aim to provide technical education to the youths of Coorg. The educationalists and philanthropists of Coorg of the 1980’s had foresight to introduce the new courses in technical education and the result of their persistent efforts is this Institution. The people of Coorg are ever grateful to these dedicated social workers.

      We have three different technical courses namely Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. This year we have admitted 180 students of the first year, 112 to second year and 78 to the third year courses. The total strength raising upto 375 which is encouragingly higher than the last years. The most heartening factor is that children of Coorg are joining our college realizing the importance of technical education. This year as many as 110 local students have taken admission for first year, which is a positive indication of the people becoming aware of the need of the time.

      In order to shape the future of all these young boys and girls we have 26 highly qualified and competitive teachers and 15 administrative staff. All these members of the staff are highly dedicated and committed to their profession. I am sure with the help and guidance of Governing Council these teachers would definitely struggle to uphold the name of this institution.

      The Coorg Foundation is also giving scholarship of Rs. 5000 each to local students since past three years for promoting the technical education in a rural area like Gonikoppal. Along with the academics, we also encourage the students to take part in sports activities and other extracurricular activities. I am hopeful that with the cooperation and help of dynamic group of staff members we will reach the target and fulfill the needs of the student community.
